Similar to the 396, the Garmin 496 combines XM satellite weather with terrain alerting and a detailed color map, then combines it with high-end software and features. Known as the "know-it-all" mini-MFD because it puts more power and information at your fingertips. The Garmin 496 features Garmin's SafeTaxi data and provides positioning and detailed taxiway diagrams for over 650 U.S. airports. The Garmin GPSMAP 696 (Garmin 696) is an all-in-one portable aviation multi-function device. The Garmin 696 is a large, high resolution screen (7-inch diagonal), detailed electronic charts, and real-time weather that now includes PIREPs and icing forecast information. The Garmin 696 features a high-resolution terrain page showing hazards relative to your altitude and a vertical profile of terrain along your route of flight.
